Appointments

Routine Appointments

We offer routine appointments up to 14 days in advance. Our clinics normally operate on weekdays between 8.30am and 11.50am.

Afternoon clinics for GP’s generally run from 3.00pm to 5.30pm. Nurse clinics operate between 8.30am and 12:30pm & 1.30pm and 6.00pm – please check with reception for specific clinics.

Appointments can be booked in person at reception, by calling the main surgery number: 02392 370422 between the hours of 08:00am and 18:30pm Monday to Friday, by using the Automated Patient Partner Telephone Booking system OR by logging into the Online system (you will need to register to use this service).

Non-urgent advice: Please Remember

If you would like to speak to a member of staff “in confidence” please ask to go to a private room.

Urgent Appointments

We operate a Telephone Triage system each weekday morning; you will be asked by the receptionist to provide a brief description of the problem for which you need an appointment. Your name will then be added to a list for a GP or a Nurse Practitioner to call you back to assess the most appropriate person for you to see and whether it is appropriate for you to be seen on the day.

You may be given advice over the telephone, an appointment to see a Nurse Practitioner or a GP, or you may be contacted by another clinician – i.e. a physiotherapist, if your problem is of a muscular skeletal nature.

Chaperones are available upon request – Click Here.

Evenings and Weekends

Under an extended access initiative from Portsmouth CCG we are now also able to offer routine pre-bookable appointments at the following times:

  • Monday – Friday: Between 6.30pm and 8pm
  • Saturdays: Between 8am and 8pm

These appointments are not at Drayton Surgery or Wootton Street Surgery but are likely to be located at Lake Road Health Centre.

Patient Partner – Automated Telephone Booking Service

Just dial the main surgery number and you will be given the opportunity to choose to book, change or cancel an appointment using the new automated service.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You will be asked to enter your date of birth in 6 digit format (i.e. 1st January 1960 would be 010160)

Then you will be asked to enter your telephone number – home or mobile. You do not need to enter the local dialling code – just the 6 digit telephone number OR the full Mobile number.

As long as we have the number recorded in your records you will then be able to make, check or cancel appointments. Appointments are normally available for all of the doctors and some, but not all, of the Nurse led clinics.

Extended Opening Hours

Please see the Extended Opening Tab under our contact details.

These appointments are available to book 48 hours in advance.

Please note you may not be able to see your usual Doctor at these clinics as not all the Doctors will be available for each session.

Please ask at reception for more details.

Non-urgent advice: Please Note

Patients attending for appointments on Saturdays are asked to record their arrival by booking themselves in using the automated screen which is opposite the main reception desk. There will be reception staff on duty at these sessions but they will not be able to provide a full administrative service.  We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.

Please help us to offer a better service to you all by letting us know if you cannot attend or no longer need an appointment so that it can be made available for another patient.
