There are also appointments available at the Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance hub at Lake Road on Saturdays and evenings during the week.

When we are closed

There is an out-of-hours service commissioned by the Portsmouth Board of Hampshire & Isle of Wight ICB which provides cover between 6.30pm and 8.00am on weekdays and throughout weekends (Friday 6.30pm – Monday 8.00am) and bank holidays.

For urgent medical emergencies please call 999.

For all non emergency medical queries which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens please call 111. You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation.

Call NHS 111 if:
– you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency
– you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
– you don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call
– you need health information or reassurance about what to do next

For less urgent health needs why not submit an eConsult which will be assessed when we re-open. Alternatively, your local Community Pharmacy are able to provide advice on a number of minor ailments.

There is also a BSL presentation which you can watch here The NHS 111 BSL service is open 7 days a week, 8am – midnight.

Please use this service responsibly. Remember it is for emergencies only; it is not to be used to deal with any requests for repeat prescriptions or other non-urgent matters.

Please Note: Patients with dental emergencies should contact the helpline on 0800 885544.

Only call 999 in an emergency; Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
