Dr O’Rourke is one of the GP Trainers at the practice and is involved in the training of both Medicals Students and Trainee GP’s.

Dr Andrew Drake (m)

BSc (London 1998) MBBS MRCP DFFP MRCGP

Dr Drake carries out Minor Surgery Clinics and is regularly involved in training Medical Students.

Dr Veronika Cassidy (f)

MB ChB (Leicester 1998) DRCOG DFFP MRCGP DipDerm

Dr Cassidy has a particular interest in Women’s Health and also Dermatology and is also involved in the training of Trainee GPs.

Dr Mark Swindells (m)

MBBChir (Cambridge 2004) MA MSc MRCS MRCGP

Dr Swindells has a specialist interest in Minor Surgery and Joint Injections. He is also the Clinical Director of Portsmouth North PCN and a Director of the Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance.

Dr Foakes has a particular interest in Palliative Care and leads the end of life team at the surgery.

Dr Teoh has a specialist interest in minor surgery and aesthetic procedures.

Nursing Team

Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Rhiannon Nelson (f)

Rhiannon is an Advanced Nurse Practitoner and works alongside the Duty Doctors in the Triage and Duty Clinics.  She is able to deal with a wide range of problems and is also able to prescribe medication.  Prior to joining the practice Rhiannon worked as a Paramedic.

Rhiannon will be performing some minor surgery procedures from early Summer 2018 under the guidance of Drs Drake and Swindells.

Mrs Diane Broad (f)

Di is an Advance Nurse Practitioner who previously worked in A&E at Queen Alexandra Hospital.  She can deal with a wide range of problems and can also prescribe medication.

Di works alongside the duty doctor in the Triage and Duty clinics each morning and afternoon.  From August 2018 Di will also be performing joint injections.

Mr Philip Dilloway (m)

Philip joined the practice in February 2018. 

He can prescribe medication and has an interest in men’s health.

Mrs Yvonne Pullin (f)

Yvonne has joined us from the Community Nursing Team and has worked closely with the Surgery for many years. Her background in Acute and Community care gives her a wealth of knowledge.

Nurses

The doctors have employed their own nurses for well over 20 years. Their role has expanded over the years and now includes monitoring clinics for diabetes, asthma and hypertension; well woman clinics (includes family planning advice, pill checks and hormone replacement); childhood and travel vaccinations; and new patient medicals.

Kerrie Pealin (f)

Kerrie is our Nurse Manager and is responsible for the day to day running of the Nursing team. As well as specialising in Respiratory and Women’s Health, Kerrie also trains student nurses who you may meet in the surgery.

Karen Gilfillan (f)

Karen works across both sites and specialises in COPD and Asthma clinics although also provides Travel and Well Woman clinics.

Michelle Campbell (f)

Michelle is one of our treatment room Nurses, providing a range of different services

Victoria Marshall (f)

Vicky is one of our general treatment room nurses and has an interest in diabetes

Health Care Support Workers

We have several trained HCSW’s to run new patient check, blood pressure and other minor clinics.

Debbie works with our Diabetic team to help run the clinics.

Mrs Julie Etienne (f)

Julie can carry out a range of basic treatment services including phlebotomy, ECG’s, Vit B 12 injections.

Sadie works with our Diabetic team, providing diabetic foot checks, blood pressures and phlebotomy

Mr Daniel Ferrett (m)

Practice Business Manager

Daniel deals with the business, development and financial side of the practice. He is in overall control of the day to day running of the non-medical side of the practice. Daniel is based at The Drayton Surgery but often visits Wootton Street.

Mrs Joanna Mortimore (f)

Operations Manager

Joanna is the Operations Manager, based at The Drayton Surgery and is available to assist with any problems in the absence of Daniel.

Reception Manager

Kerry is our Reception Manager and will be on hand to help with any general enquiries you may have at the front desk.

Secretaries

Mary and Caroline

Both Mary and Caroline are based at the Drayton site and work on referrals and letters from the GPs as well as processing SARS requests and non-NHS work requests.

Administration

We have a great team of administrators working at the surgery processing incoming letters and registrations. This team is lead by Claire and Joanna.

Reception Team

Our Care Navigators on Reception have one of the hardest jobs in the surgery. They are the first people you will see or interact with and will always do everything they can to help. All of our Care Navigators receive specific signposting training to assist them in helping you find the most appropriate clinician for your problem.

Pharmacists

Emma (f)

Emma is our Pharmacy Technician, she works with the Clinical Pharmacists and can help with queries about medications.

Emma (f)

Emma works within our Pharmacy Team as prescribing clerk, working with the team to ensure your prescriptions are processed in as quick a time as possible.

Tracey (f)

Tracey is our Senior Prescribing Clerk and works with the wider prescribing team to ensure compliance and safety measures are adhered to as well as working with Emma on processing prescription requests.

Attached Staff

Joy (f)

Joy is our Lead Social Prescriber and works with Matt to help patients access services and support for social rather than health matters. 

However the issues which affect patients may be directly linked to medical conditions / health and well being so she will liaise with the clinical staff regarding ongoing patient care.

Matt

Matt is a Social Prescriber working with Joy to help our patients live a more fulfilled life.

Viktoria (f)

Viktoria is our Lead Clinical Pharmacist for the PCN and not only works with Ihtishaam and Birah to enhance patient care, but also mentors and teaches both of them too.

Ihtishaam (m)

Ihtishaam is one of the PCN Clinical Pharmacists helping to reduce GP workload and provide a more enhanced service to our patients.

Birah (f)

Birah is a Clinical Pharmacist and independent prescriber within our PCN Pharmacy team, working with Viktoria and Ihtishaam to enhance patient care.

Physiotherapist

We have a part-time resident physiotherapist, employed by the local trust, who treats patients referred by the doctors. The half-day sessions are held three times a week.

Alcohol Intervention Team

The Alcohol Interventions Team (AIT) offers support, information, advice and signposting to individuals who drink above ‘safe’ levels of alcohol for whatever reason.

If you feel you would benefit from support to make changes to your alcohol use, please either discuss a referral to the AIT with your GP, or call 02392 841753 to make a self referral.

Community Midwives

The midwives in partnership with the doctors are responsible for the antenatal and postnatal care of our patients, in clinics and home visiting.

Community Nurses

There is a team of District Nurses who are attached to the surgery to care for our patients.  They are based at Thomas Parr House, Medina Road in Cosham. Their duties include visiting patients in their homes, giving practical assistance and professional advice to patients, relatives and carers in coping with illness at home.

They can be contacted on 0300 300 2012.

Health Visitors

The health visitors, although concerned with the health of the whole community, have particular responsibility for families and young children.

They are based at Cosham and can be contacted on (023) 9221 9888.

Counsellors

A trained counsellor is employed on behalf of the practice. Appropriate referrals are made by the doctor when felt necessary.
