Dr Drake is one of the Managing Partners and trains medical students and is also a GP Trainer, involved in the training of future GPs.

Dr Cassidy leads on Women’s Health for the surgery and has a specialist interest in Dermatology. She is also a GP Trainer and is involved in the training of Future GPs.
Dr Mark Swindells
Dr Swindells is one of the Managing Partners and has a specialist interest in Minor Surgery and Joint Injections. He is also the Clinical Director of Portsmouth North PCN and a Director of the Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance.

Dr Foakes has a particular interest in Palliative Care and leads the end of life team at the surgery.

Dr Teoh has a specialist interest in Minor Surgery and Aesthetic Procedures as well as Dermatology.

As well as our Partners and Associate GPs, we are also a training practice and host medical students in the midst of their medical training as well as GP registrars who are nearing the end of their GP training. If you are attending for an appointment with one of our GPs, it may be that you are seeing a student or registrar, helping them towards their future career.

Nurse Practitioners
All of our Nurse Practitioners have expert knowledge in their field and have been working in nursing for many years. They run our acute (on the day) service and are able to help you with the majority of problems without you having to see a GP. They are supported by the GPs int he Practice who are on-hand to answer any queries they may have about your treatment.

Nurses
The doctors have employed their own nurses for many years. Their role has expanded over the years and now includes monitoring clinics for diabetes, asthma and hypertension; cervical smear clinics; childhood and travel vaccinations; and NHS Healthchecks.

Kerrie is our Nurse Manager and is responsible for the day to day running of the Nursing team. As well as specialising in Respiratory and Women’s Health, Kerrie also trains student nurses who you may meet in the surgery.

Mr Daniel Ferrett
Practice Business Manager
Daniel deals with the business, development and financial side of the practice. He is in overall control of the day to day running of the non-medical side of the practice. Daniel is based at The Drayton Surgery but often visits Wootton Street.

Operations Manager
Joshua is the Operations Manager, based at The Drayton Surgery and is available to assist with any problems in the absence of Daniel.
Mrs Kerry Joof
Patient Services Manager
Kerry runs the front of house for both surgery sites. She has responsibility for the Care Navigator team, the Secretaries and the Registrations team. Kerry is always happy to help with any patient queries and minor complaints/concerns.
Secretaries
Our team of Secretaries are based at our main site in Drayton and are responsible for ensuring referrals go to the correct place as well as typing for the GPs, processing Subject Access Requests and compiling non-NHS private work such as insurance reports and driving medicals.
Administration
Our administration team work through all the incoming documents we receive from Secondary Care and other, non-Primary Care departments. They are responsible for ensuring records are kept up-to-date with correct clinical codes and information. As well as this, the department also deals with new-patient registrations and records.
Care Navigators
Our Care Navigators on Reception have one of the hardest jobs in the surgery. They are the first people you will see or interact with and will always do everything they can to help. All of our Care Navigators receive specific signposting training to assist them in helping you find the most appropriate clinician for your problem.
Healthcare Team
Prescriptions Team
We have a team of Prescription clerks who are responsible for the processing of all the prescription requests we receive at the surgery, whether that is by letter, email, online, or via Community Pharmacy. As you can imagine, with nearly 24,000 patients, they are kept quite busy.
As well as processing prescription requests, they are also on-hand to answer any queries about your prescriptions between 11 and 2, Monday to Friday.
Social Prescribers
Our team of Social Prescribers help patients with things like housing, financial problems, and relationships that can affect their overall health. They connect people with groups and activities in the community to make them feel better. This helps people take charge of their health and feel more involved in their community. It is especially helpful for people with long-term illnesses, mental health issues, loneliness, and other social problems.
Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
Our Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are able to help with all aspects of medication as well as hypertension reviews, blood pressure and Menopause.
Health & Wellbeing Coach
Our health & wellbeing coach works closely with the Social Prescribers and Mental Health Facilitator to help people who would like direction around losing weight, becoming more active and cutting down on alcohol and smoking.
Care Coordinators
Our Care Coordinators split in to two teams for our patients; one team looks after our Housebound patients and ensures they have everything they need clinically, including chronic illness clinics. The other team looks after our patients who have been diagnosed with Cancer, offering advice on services available to them and being a very much appreciated pillart of support on their journey.
First Contact MSK Physiotherapist
We have joined with Solent NHS Trust to provide an FCP MSK Physio in the surgery several times a week. Clinics run on a Tuesday and a Thursday and they are able to help with a range of Musculoskeletal problems.
Community Midwives
The midwives in partnership with the doctors are responsible for the antenatal and postnatal care of our patients, in clinics and home visiting.
Community Nurses
There is a team of District Nurses who are attached to the surgery to care for our patients. They are based at Thomas Parr House, Medina Road in Cosham. Their duties include visiting patients in their homes, giving practical assistance and professional advice to patients, relatives and carers in coping with illness at home.

Health Visitors
The health visitors, although concerned with the health of the whole community, have particular responsibility for families and young children.
They are based at Cosham and can be contacted on (023) 9221 9888.
