We may refer your home visit request to the Acute Visiting Service which is operated by the Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance and you may be asked whether you would be happy for the AVS Dr to visit.
The AVS service is staffed by Doctors who can visit patients much earlier in the day than the practice GP’s. Your usual GP will review the visit request and if they feel it is appropriate for you to be seen by AVS they will pass the visit on so that the visit can be done ASAP.
The AVS doctors complete feedback forms detailing what action they have taken, any medication issued etc. These are sent back to us electronically the same day and are then scanned into your medical records by the surgery staff and passed to your usual GP for information.
