When We Are Closed
There is an out-of-hours service commissioned by Portsmouth CCG which provides cover between 6.30pm and 8.00am on weekdays and throughout weekends (Friday 6.30pm - Monday 8.00am) and bank holidays.
At all times when the surgery is closed:
For URGENT MEDICAL EMERGENCIES please call 999.
For all non emergency medical queries which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens please call 111. You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation.
Call NHS 111 if:
- you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency
- you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
- you don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call
- you need health information or reassurance about what to do next
For less urgent health needs why not submit an eConsult which will be assessed when we re-open. Alternatively, your local Community Pharmacy are able to provide advice on a number of minor ailments.
There is also a BSL presentation which you can watch via this link: https://youtu.be/4O0js0832Ng - The NHS 111 BSL service is open 7 days a week, 8am – midnight
Please use this service responsibly. Remember it is for emergencies only; it is not to be used to deal with any requests for repeat prescriptions or other non-urgent matters.
Please Note: Patients with dental emergencies should contact the helpline on 0800 885544.
ONLY call 999 in an emergency.
Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
