Why not give us your email address so that we can register you for online booking ?

Each family member will need a different email address to access the service but once registered you would be able to book appointments and request presecriptions via an online service which would avoid having to telephone when we are open and possibly havign a long wait.

Routine Appointments

Our clinics normally operate on weekdays between 8.30 and 11.00am. Afternoon clinics for GP's generally run from 3.30 to 5.30pm. Nurse clinics operate between 1.30pm and 6.00pm - please check with reception for specific clinics.  

EXTENDED OPENING HOURS

We currently offer additonal surgeries on:

Selected Saturday mornings

Between 7.30am and 8am on Friday mornings, and

Between 6.30pm and 8.00pm on Monday evenings

These appointments are available to book up to 48hours in advance.  Please note you may not be able to see your usual Doctor at these clinics as not all the Doctors will be available for each session. 

Please ask at reception for more details. 

Please Note:

Patients attending for appointments on Saturdays are asked to record their arrival by booking themselves in using the automated screen which is opposite the main reception desk.  There will be reception staff on duty at these sessions but they will not be able to provide a full administrative service.  We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.

Urgent Appointments / Minor Illness Clinic

Every day there are times allocated for urgent appointments which are filled on the same day only. If your problem cannot wait until the next routine appointment you will be seen at these times. Please remember the times you are given for appointments are approximate, as some problems do take longer to deal with then others and delays do regretably occur. The doctor could also be called out of surgery for an emergency visit - however if this happens we will keep you updated as to how long the wait is likely to be before you are seen.

If you would like to speak to a member of staff "in confidence" please ask to go to a private room.

Home Visits

If a visit is required please telephone 023 92 370422 between 8.30-10.30am. 

Visits may be requested for a subsequent day if you are housebound.

Please only request a home visit if you are too ill or physically unable to come to the surgery. Your telephone number will be taken to enable the doctor to contact you if he wishes. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to prioritise his/her calls.

Remember the doctor can see four to five patients in the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit.

After 11.30am only emergency visits will be taken for the same day. The duty doctor will make these house calls.

Text Reminder Service

We are now able to send a text reminder to your mobile phone for any booked appointment IF we have your number so please make sure you let us have your mobile number as soon as possible.  Please also remember to let us know when you change your mobile number !!

Doctor Triage & Nurse Minor Illness Clinic

These clinics provide consultations for one problem which cannot wait until the first available routine appointment.

These clinics operate each weekday morning and you may be seen by either a Nurse Practitioner or a Doctor.

Patients are requested to telephone the surgery to access these clinics - you will be asked for a brief reason why you require the appointment and will then be given an attendance time. 

Please be aware that due to the nature of the clinic you may have to wait longer than usual to be seen. 

These clinics are not appropriate for longstanding or ongoing conditions .

Please do not abuse this valuable service.

The sessions are provided by our Nurse Practitioner and also one of the doctors (on a rota basis). Please do not ask in advance which Doctor is covering on which day as the reception staff are not able to give this information.

You will be called in order of arrival, unless clinical necessity dictates otherwise.

It is now possible to book an appointment with a GP via our online service "The Waiting Room". 

All you need to do is provide us with your own personal (individual) email address and we will set you up to access the service - please contact Reception if you wish to be able to use this service. 

PLEASE NOTE:

Each patient MUST have an individual email address - it is NOT possible to use one email address for more than one person within a household as the system links directly to individual patient records. 

Please note that you will be contacted by email with information about how to use the service so may need to check your spam filter/junk inbox or change your settings to ensure you dont miss our email !

You will be given a user name and a password to access "The Waiting Room" and once you have logged in you will be able to change your password to something more memorable/easier to remember. 

If you forget your password we can arrange for you to be sent a new password - however this may take a few days and you will not be able to access the service during this time.

We hope that this improvement to our booking system will make it easier for you to book appointments and free up the telephone lines first thing in the morning.
